Financial Compliance and Training Officer (part time)

The Financial Compliance and Training Officer will work closely with colleagues across the Finance & Procurement Office and Departments. The post holder will be primarily responsible assisting in the assurance that suitable financial controls and compliance are in place across the University’s financial operations. Additionally, to undertake investigation activities as required and review and assess Financial Regulations and Policy compliance.

The post holder will also be expected to support the development and provision of financial training across the F&PO and wider University, using a range of media. This will be a busy role and the post holder must be able to prioritize effectively and work to deadlines on their own initiative.

As the Finance & Procurement Office we manage all aspects of the University’s income and expenditure, including purchasing arrangements, student finance, and staff pay and pensions. The University is a complex and diverse organisation with a turnover of £362m, it operates in a regulated environment and regards compliance as a key function in managing its risks.

This is a permanent, part-time role with negotiable hours up to 33 a week.

Whilst a qualification in Finance is not required, it would be welcomed, equally support is available towards a suitable finance qualification.
