Student Financial Assistance:

The Office of Student Financial Assistance, a unit within Student Development and Enrollment Services, is dedicated to supporting UCF’s mission and goals through the efficient delivery of student aid. The Office provides UCF students with a comprehensive offering of financial assistance options to support student success and the attainment of a university degree.

The Opportunity:

Primarily responsible for the verification of information in students’ files, assures the accuracy of financial aid application data in accordance with federal regulations. Requires thorough knowledge of the Congressional Methodology for determining need, the Pell Grant Formula, policies, procedures, and guidelines contained in the Federal Verification Guide, as well as state and institutional policies and procedures manuals.

Responsibilities:

Advises and counsels students and parents regarding the financial aid process. Analyzes and evaluates students’ financial needs. Advises on availability and sources of financial assistance including Pell Grant, Campus-based aid, Stafford loan, scholarships, and other programs. Interprets to students the policies, the processes, and the regulations pertaining to financial aid and all aid programs. Counseling occurs by telephone, through personal interviews, and email communications.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Assists in the coordination and processing of Unusual Enrollment History.

  • Participates in outreach activities and presentation of financial aid information to groups of students, parents, high school counselors, and/or the general public in workshop or training sessions.

  • Attends professional workshops, meetings, and training sessions to assure adequate professional development and keep abreast of current rules and regulations.

  • Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing.

  • Ability to counsel and advise students.

  • Knowledge of basic financial aid program requirements.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

  • Knowledge of basic keyboard skills.
