The Financial Administrator will provide post award professional level financial support and perform all other duties as assigned for the Department of Surgery. This position requires the appropriate application of a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in the field of research accounting, post-award administration, or financial analysis. Monthly duties will include entering and reconciliation of grant and departmental accounts, running reports, expense and revenue recordings and expense approval, and maintaining accurate data as well as ensuring that department spreadsheets are up to date.

 

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration is required. Additionally, the incumbent must be proficient in PC operation. The incumbent must have knowledge of basic accounting principles, experience in medical research, grant administration, and familiarity with funding agencies. Knowledge of Panther Express systems and Department Manager a plus. CRA certification a plus. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted per University guidelines.
