As the finance partner for the network infrastructure team, you will help them make optimal investment decisions that will help build a highly reliable, scalable, low-cost infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers hundreds of thousands of enterprise, government and start-up businesses and organizations in over 190 countries around the world.

AWS is seeking a Finance Manager to lead controllership and automation within the Network Finance team. This role is based in Seattle and works across the Infrastructure Finance organization with an opportunity to learn about how AWS is making investments in our data centers, and to connect regions globally. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively, partner with business and finance stakeholders, manage multiple and time sensitive deliverables, and deliver process improvements.

Key job responsibilities

  • Partner with business and finance leads to develop strategy, and planning for investments in how we connect data centers, regions and to the internet.

  • Lead process improvements and automation across Network Finance. Partner with finance and business teams to identify and deliver process improvements/automation to improve controllership for month end close and forecasting accuracy.

  • Collaborate with finance and business teams across AWS to increase accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of Capex and Opex reporting.

  • Raise the bar on developing, and retaining the best talent to continue building our world class team of finance professional.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis

  • Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results

  • Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
