Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs. Specifically, Skilled to Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel with an ability to compile and analyze complex data.
Ability and successful track record developing budgets, tracking expenditures and managing to the budget.
Experience developing and ensuring adherence to control and compliance policies.
Highly comfortable learning and functioning in various Accounting Systems.
Ability to navigate and successfully interact across departments and throughout the organization to complete complex tasks

Job Duties

Duties & Responsibilities Coordinates all aspects of the scholarship process on behalf of the University of Memphis for the Foundation Office. This includes budget development, budget setting in the Foundation Accounting system, development of departmental scholarship communications, working across university departments, ensuring usage adherence to the scholarship agreements and fielding scholarship related inquiries. This role reports directly to the Foundation CEO with a dotted line to the Foundation CBO.
Duties & Responsibilities Under the direction of the Foundation CEO and CBO, the Scholarship Coordinator will be responsible for developing the annual scholarship budgets. The successful candidate will be highly organized, extremely detail-oriented, have a high level of comfort working within accounting systems, and with data and financial tracking, as well as an expert in Excel with an ability to create complex formulas and automated reporting.
Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for reviewing all scholarship agreements and ensuring scholarship usage is in adherence to the requirements of the agreement and Foundation and University policies. This includes tracking of scholarship usage, maintaining scholarship database and proactively communicating with departments to maximize awareness of funds available, and therefore fulfilling the intent of our donors for the benefit of our students. As part of stewarding the scholarship process along, the Scholarship Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating and producing donor impact reporting with guidance and direction from the Foundation CEO and VP of Advancement.
Duties & Responsibilities Provides primary management coordination with external auditors for annual audits and tax preparation, providing CEO with status updates throughout the process. Leads internal coordination and preparation of all schedules and PBC (provided by client) deliverables. Ensures all audits and required federal and state returns are filed timely and accurately. Stays aware of trends, requirements and regulations, including those of government entities to ensure policies and procedures are in compliance with the university, the state, federal laws and the IRS. Serve as Foundation lead and maintain oversight on renewal of all licenses and state report fillings. Maintains current knowledge of GAAP pronouncements impacting the University, as well as FASB and IRS rules and regulations, which are applicable to the Foundation and implement changes as necessary.
Duties & Responsibilities Confers regularly with Foundation colleagues, as well as, the Advancement team, Financial Aid, Scholarship Office, Grants Accounting and the Business Officers and Deans in the Colleges across the University. Regular communication with colleagues in other areas of the University will be key in facilitating responsibilities, such as establishing new Foundation Scholarship Funds, creating Scholarship availability awareness, issuing Scholarship funding to the University, ensuring Scholarship usage agreement compliance and reporting any compliance issues, as well as educating colleagues on the information available to them within our systems.
Duties & Responsibilities Supports the Foundation CEO by compiling and providing the proposed Scholarship Budget for Board meetings and consideration, as well as providing College specific Scholarship communications when the Scholarship pool is announced. This includes drafting memos, providing executive summaries of the budget and scholarships available and communicating the budget with key stakeholders across the University.
Duties & Responsibilities Conduct Scholarship and Fund Balance training with new Business Officers so they are equipped to manage the scholarship awarding process and support the Dean of their College.
