Finance and Contracts Officer, ISER
£27,929 – £31,411 per annum, pro-rata

An opportunity has arisen for a Finance and Contracts Officer to join the Institute for Social and Economic Research (ISER). This is a new role in a large, dynamic and friendly team, working primarily within Understanding Society: UK Household Longitudinal Study (UKHLS) but also supporting the wider ISER team. This unique study is the largest longitudinal household panel study of its kind. This is an exciting opportunity to provide expertise supporting the financial activities and budget management of a multi-million pound project, along with supporting ISER’s financial administration.

Duties of the Role

In this role you will manage Understanding Society’s day-to-day finances, using the University’s financial management software (Unit4), which involves undertaking a wide range of tasks. You will maintain the Study’s multiple grants and report and forecast on these budgets to a wide variety of stakeholders. You will co-ordinate the Study’s procurement activities, including tender and quotation requests, whilst ensuring Understanding Society’s compliance with university policies. The successful candidate will also manage different aspects of Understanding Society’s staffing and payroll processes.

Qualifications and Skills required

The successful candidate will be educated to at least A-level or equivalent qualifications, with relevant accounting, budget and purchasing experience. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and disseminate complex financial information to non-financial managers.
