The positionOur Office & Site Organization team provides our scientists with comprehensive administrative support and thus the space to focus on developing breakthrough therapies. At the interface between office and laboratory, we are looking for a Finance and Administration Director (m/f/d).First things first: We are looking for a hands-on, proactive, pragmatic, reliable, accountable, cooperative, empathic multi-tasker with a good sense of humor and great team spirit.Tasks & responsibilities
- Together with our experienced and highly motivated Office & Site Organization team keep oversight of and involve hands-on in multiple projects and tasks in the areas of:
- Finance (e.g., budget planning, forecasting, and controlling, internal and external reporting, oversee internal accounting processes incl. payment cycles, intercompany invoicing, interact with external accountant, tax advisor and auditor, interact with corporate finance and tax departments, support preparation of and review annual financial statement and annual tax declarations)
- Public funding (e.g., support annual research premium application, support grant writing and application processes, interact with funding agencies, ensure appropriate financial and scientific reporting)
- Legal & Compliance (e.g., negotiate contracts with external partners with support from corporate legal department, keep oversight of related reporting obligations, deadlines, invoicing etc., interact with external legal support, oversee local compliance and data protection, as well as corporate and trade law requirements)
- Site management (e.g., oversee facility management, site maintenance, as well as various environment, health, safety, and security aspects together with Lab Manager, plan CapEx projects, interact with landlord, building management, and authorities)
- Administration (e.g., oversee purchasing and stockkeeping, material transfer and export control, support and interact with corporate IT and communications departments, monitor insurances and interact with insurance brokers, prepare and attend internal and external audits, take care of various general administration topics)
- Coordinate and interact with various internal and external stakeholders ensuring adherence to legal and compliance as well as internal reporting requirements of an international corporation, while at the same time maintaining the lean and efficient organization and processes of a biotech company.
- Take responsibility and ownership for a diverse scope of duties and keep the place running smoothly so the research teams can focus on innovating and delivering breakthrough therapies for cancer patients.
Requirements
- Long standing hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge in the areas of finance, legal, and administration in line with the job description. Basic understanding of the processes in a start-up and/or biotech company.
- University degree preferably in law or life sciences (with PhD) or alternatively in business administration.
- Reliable team player with a hands-on mentality, an eye for detail, and excellent interpersonal and clear communication skills, with a sense of humor, a talent for improvisation and an interest in acquiring a broad interdisciplinary expertise in a complex environment.
- Fluency in English and German, both spoken and written.
