The Opportunity:

The UCF Office of Instructional Resources (OIR) is in need of two Field Engineer II’s (Audio/Visual technician) to enhance our current team of A/V professionals. The ideal candidates will have experience with Audio/Visual Systems and or Low Voltage systems integration. In addition, the candidates must be a fast learners, be detail oriented and have experience using basic hand tools.

Responsibilities:  

  • Provides a strong level of service in the testing, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of multimedia equipment across all UCF locations. Must be able to solve complex issues through physical and logical investigation. Assists in responding to Tier 3 AV and multimedia tickets. Assists with troubleshooting and equipment repairs. Works under supervision of senior engineers.

  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures within UCF IT and OIR to perform tracking and reporting functions within ServiceNow. Works to meet service level targets to ensure a high level of service delivery.

  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures within UCF IT and OIR. This includes staff policies for telecommuting, administrative tasks, creating and maintaining documentation, outage communication procedures, and managing customer interactions.

  • Ensures all assigned Objectives & Key Results (OKR) and various metrics are meet on annual basis. This includes departmental and individual Service Level Agreements on tickets and assignments.

  • Attends various seminars, training and conferences related to current or emerging technology. Will be given various opportunities to obtain certifications based on specific training.

  • Other duties as assigned, which may include temporary supervisory role for the subunit within the department.

Minimum Qualifications:  

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2+ years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Audio/Visual or Low Voltage systems integration experience.

  • Ability to discern audio and video quality.

  • Ability to lift 50lbs over the head.

  • Ability to read line drawings.

  • Ability to use construction and fabrication tools.

  • Ability to meet construction zone safety practices.

  • Fine motor skills and hand eye coordination sufficient to work with electrical components.

Special Instructions to the Applicants: 

Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license (regular license). The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
