RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
One newly-opened postdoctoral fellow position is immediately available in the laboratory of Don Vinh, in the Infectious Diseases and Immunity in Global Health (IDIGH) axis of the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC).

The general interests of the Vinh translational research lab is to study host-pathogen interactions, particularly to fungi, using “state-of-the-art” multi-disciplinary systematic approaches. We work at the interface of human patients, immunology, genetics, and mycology, using various approaches, including cellular and molecular biology, animal imaging, proteomics, and functional genomics, in a strong and synergistic collaboration with our RI-MUHC colleague, Dr. Maz Divangahi, a world expert in monocyte/macrophage immunobiology.

General Duties
Currently, we are seeking a Post-doctoral fellow (PDF) for an exciting project to decipher susceptibility to the yeast, Candida albicans. This work involves animal imaging and histopathology, as well as in vitro evaluation of immunologic processes.

Education / Experience

• The required qualifications for this positions include a Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular
biology, Cell biology, or a related field,
• Published experience in mouse studies and flow cytometry is strongly preferred and is
viewed as a major asset,
• The PDF must be independent and highly motivated to manage the project, with a track
record of productivity and able to work with colleagues closely as a teammate.

Additional information

Status: Temporary, full time
Pay Scale: from $38,500 to $42,500/annum (35-hour workweek)
Work Shift: from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays to Fridays
Work Site: Glen site, Research Institute of the MUHC
