The Fellowship Advisor engages directly with high achieving students, advises and facilitates all aspects of the application process for nationally competitive scholarships and fellowships. 1. Recruit and advise students applying for nationally competitive scholarships
*Assist in the recruitment, advising and nomination of students and alumni for prestigious national awards (including the Churchill, Fulbright, Marshall, Rhodes, Schwarzman, among others), with a particular focus on STEM related awards (Goldwater, NSF REU, DAAD Rise, NIH, etc.)
*Inform and guide the deliberations of faculty fellowship nomination committees
*Build and maintain excellent cross-campus relationships with both faculty and staff
2. Assist in the development and management of the Arete Retreat for top achieving students
*Create a longitudinal recruiting and advising program for the top incoming students each year, and design strategic advising programs for other target student populations
*Remain knowledgeable of and abiding by the best practices of the profession

The duties of the position do not allow for a remote work option; the employee in this position will be required to work on campus where they can be fully accessible to the Lehigh community.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in English, Technical Writing, STEM, Communications or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Three to five years related work experience
Experience in fellowship advising, career services, technical writing, student advising or other relevant experience
Ability to build, foster and maintain positive professional relationships
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, time management and sound judgment
Adept use of digital communication preferred
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and a high degree of initiative for bringing tasks to completion
Excellent computer skills with experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software
Solid analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills
Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position
All Lehigh faculty and staff are required to be fully vaccinated and receive a booster shot six months after their second vaccine; unless they receive an approved medical or religious exemption from the requirement.
