JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Beaver – Student Affairs- Student Activities is seeking student applicants to serve as Peer Mentors.

Responsibilities

• Help organize and run New Student Orientation during summer
• Serve as a resource for new students for all of the academic year 2022-2023
• Connect new students to campus resources and build community.
• Promote social and academic success among new students.
• Collaborate with fellow peer leaders on a variety of initiatives to engage new students.
• Attend group meetings regularly throughout the year.

 

Qualifications

• Be a returning, full-time Penn State Beaver student enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours.
• Be available to take part in training and all New Student Orientation dates.
• Be in good academic and judicial standing with the University. (CGPA of 2.5+)
• Be available for 5-10 hours each week during 2022-2023 academic year.

Students who received a Federal Work Study award have the opportunity to obtain a job and perform related duties either on campus, or remotely, if possible and at the discretion of the employer. Students applying for Federal Work Study positions should clarify expectations with their potential employer regarding either on campus/in person or remote work arrangements. A Federal Work Study award does not guarantee a job position is available.

The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
