What you will be doing:
Consistently offer friendly, professional and proactive guest service

Lead and supervise the Fairmont Gold floor to ensure Fairmont Gold Standards are followed

Handle guest concerns and react quickly, tracking and notifying proper areas to guarantee memorable moments for our guests

Monitor maintenance and appearance of the Fairmont Gold product (rooms, lounge, food & beverage, etc.)

Review all Fairmont Gold reservations to ensure guest requests are met or exceeded

Provide exceptional Concierge information about local and area attractions

Develop and maintain strong guest relationships to ensure Fairmont Gold loyalty

Ensure the highest possible revenues and rate integrity Fairmont Gold rooms, working with the Front Office team on daily upsell programs

Follow department policies, procedures and service standards

Follow all safety policies

All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:
Service focused personality is essential with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in food & beverage required

Previous supervisory experience in guest service a strong asset

Serving It Right certification required

Experience working with Opera or related Property Management System required

Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities and the ability to lead by example

Knowledge of Metro Vancouver, its history, activities and attractions

Superior communication skills, both verbal and written, and professional appearance/presentation

Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities

Ability to work independently and cohesively as part of a team

Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Computer literate in all Microsoft Window applications required

Ability to type at least 55 words per minute

Highly responsible & reliable

Ability to work a variety of shifts including early morning and late night

The physical job requirements include but are not limited to:
Frequent standing and walking throughout shift

Occasional kneeling, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 20lbs

Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
