Faculty Positions at Center for Infectious Disease Research, Westlake University

Founded in 2018, Westlake University is a new type of research university in Hangzhou, China, supported by public and private funding. The Center for Infectious Disease Research (CIDR) at Westlake University is recruiting multiple faculty members in all ranks (Tenure-Track Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Full Professor).

The CIDR was established in response to emerging infectious diseases. It is making transformative scientific advances toward a better understanding of a broad spectrum of infectious diseases, including those caused by influenza virus, mycobacterium tuberculosis, hepatitis B virus, coronaviruses, and others. We are seeking outstanding scientists to lead vigorous, independent research programs in pathobiology, immunology, vaccinology, epidemiology, or drug discovery, focusing on microbial infections and inflammations. We also seek interdisciplinary researchers with expertise in microfluidics, nano-electronics, nano-biomaterials, big data, and deep learning. Applicants must hold an M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent degree and have extensive postdoctoral experience, along with a strong publication record that demonstrates creativity and productivity. Successful applicants are expected to develop innovative research programs that encompass both basic and translational research on medically relevant diseases.
