Faculty Position (Open Rank) in Political Science or International Relations

Position description

The newly formed Department of Political Science and International Relations (formerly International Relations and Regional Studies) at the College of Social Sciences of KIMEP University invites applications forfaculty positions at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professorial level in Political Science or International Relations. The position is a three-year full-time academic appointment to begin on August 16, 2024. The position is renewable upon mutual agreement. Responsibilities include teaching, research, scholarly activities, advising, field liaison and service.

We seek a talented teacher and innovative scholar who is actively engaged in research, enthusiastic about teaching bachelor, master and PhD students and serving the university, local community and the profession. We are looking for a productive and cooperative colleague who will bring new perspectives to theory, research and practice in the field of International Relations and Politics.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have a PhD in Political Science or International Relations from a Western, internationally recognized university. The successful candidate needs to demonstrate recent, successful research activity and, preferably, experience in the supervision of PhD students. Applicants for the position should have at least 5 years of teaching experience in higher education.
