Summary:
The McGill School of Continuing Studies is one of 11 faculties at McGill University, a public institution of advanced learning situated in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The School serves a diverse adult learner population of 8-10,000+ annually, from pre-collegiate to post-retirement age. Leveraging both face-to-face and online delivery formats, the School offers a combined total of 60+ credit and non-credit programs and courses of varying duration at undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels. Particular emphasis is placed on serving the learning needs of Indigenous peoples and other equity-seeking groups as well as global communities and non-traditional adult learners.
SCS’s pedagogic approach centers on the highest quality, interactive, experiential and peer learning combined with close collaboration with practitioners, employers, and professional organizations. Position Description:
The McGill School of Continuing Studies invites applications for a three (3) year, renewable appointment as Faculty lecturer (Professional), non-tenured, ranked contract academic staff, in Parliamentary Studies and Public Affairs. We are interested in receiving applications from candidates who have a background in Parliamentary Studies, Public Administration or Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations, International Development, or a related field. Teaching experience, expertise in fostering active learning and inclusive environments, and experience in developing parliamentary networking partnerships are strongly sought qualities.
This is a full-time, ranked academic, non-tenure-track (contract academic staff) position with an initial three (3) year appointment, renewable depending on performance and budget. The position includes administrative program oversight responsibilities, and other contributions (e.g., teaching, applied research). The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to an inclusive learning community. The desired start date is January 1, 2025.
