The Office of Academic Administration at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, which manages faculty affairs, faculty development, and faculty-related human resource functions for the GSB, seeks a Faculty Affairs and Operation Manager to manage the course evaluations process, reporting and compliance requirements for faculty members, and to provide analysis, guidance and support for faculty affairs-related processes, including but not limited to the search process, appointments, reappointments, and promotions while ensuring compliance with school and university policies.
The Faculty Affairs and Operations Manager will work with the Assistant Dean, Academic Administration, the Director of Academic Affairs, and two Faculty Affairs Managers on annual compliance requirements for faculty, the course evaluations processes, the annual review process for faculty members, as well as ad hoc faculty affairs duties as the school continues to grow and focus on the recruitment of elite scholars in the business disciplines across the globe. The Faculty Affairs and Operations Manager will be the point of contact for faculty on internal matters related to the duties outlined above, as well as representing the GSB for most candidates applying for tenure track faculty positions, interacting with applicants, faculty members and other GSB staff at all levels.

Please Note: This position requires regular, on-site work at the Stanford GSB campus, but a full-time on-campus presence may not be required for this role.

Your primary responsibilities include:
•    Independently manage and execute the course evaluation processes and associated reporting for the school.
•    Manage the annual Conflict of Interest disclosure process with minimal oversight and serve as the GSB’s representative on University working group.
•    Manage the bi-annual Harassment Prevention Training process with minimal oversight. Prepare reports and ensure compliance for both faculty and academic staff at the GSB.
•    Manage and drive all aspects of the annual review process for faculty members at the GSB, including interpreting Stanford and GSB policies and refining best practices. Work with multiple stakeholders to assemble information for senior academic leadership in the GSB while acting with tact and maintain confidentiality.
•    As a member of the Faculty Affairs team, manage faculty recruiting processes, candidate on-campus visits, including arranging transportation and accommodations, scheduling meetings and interviews and processing reimbursements.
•    As a member of the Faculty Affairs team, manage second visits of candidates with whom offers are being negotiated; often this means welcoming spouse and family, and arranging meetings regarding housing, benefits, real estate and community resources.
•    Manage and drive appointment, promotion, and tenure cases from start to finish in a Salesforce environment, including preparing and editing reports, assembling files, recommending and interpreting policies and processes for GSB faculty and senior associate deans.
•    Identify problematic information in letters and related documents, and advise on how to resolve the problem
•    Partner with two other Faculty Affairs Managers on planning and delivering the annual New Faculty Orientation for GSB faculty and lecturers.
•    Partner with the Assistant and Senior Associate Deans and other senior GSB stakeholders on coordinating and delivering the annual faculty meeting.

To be successful in this position, you will bring
•    Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience working with administrative processes, or combination of education and relevant experience.
•    High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
•    Outstanding oral and email communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work well with Stanford colleagues and clients and with external organizations.
•    Ability to track, monitor and adhere to deadlines.
•    Ability to learn university systems.
•    Experience working with databases and Microsoft Office suite.
•    Demonstrated ability to act with tact and maintain confidentiality.
•    Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
•    Experience with complex schedules and planning.
•    Demonstrated commitment to personal responsibility and value for safety, shown through communication of safety concerns and use and promotion of safe behaviors based on training and lessons learned.
