The Faculty Administrative Assistant role is a newly created post designed to provide proactive assistance to the Faculty Leadership Teams. Based locally within the faculties the successful candidate will work closely with the Personal Assistants to the Executive Deans and the Heads of Schools, and the Faculty Academic Support Officers. The role will include supporting the work of the Personal Assistants and the Academic Support Officers. This includes assisting with diary management, servicing meetings including minute taking, making travel/accommodation arrangements, and providing broad administrative support as required.
You will also deal with a wide range of staff across the university. Working closely with the academic departments, you will be responsible for delivering an excellent customer experience and will undertake a variety of different duties such as ordering stationery, office equipment and software and undertake other purchasing and finance related administration. You will be the point of contact for staff enquiries, undertaking general office duties and providing clerical support in the production of course information.
The successful candidate will have a range of GCSEs, including English Language and Maths at Grade C or above, or appropriate equivalent experiential learning as well as a word processing/typing/IT qualification or demonstrable equivalent experiential learning. Excellent IT skills as essential as well as a flexible approach to working, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and exercise personal responsibility. Role holders are expected to work collaboratively and flexibly to meet ongoing business requirements. This may involve changes to responsibilities and working in different areas.
