The College of Dentistry is seeking an experienced facility professional for the Building Services team responsible for facilities and equipment maintenance and operations. The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is the fourth largest public dental school in the United States and it is the only public dental school in Ohio. The college is divided into ten divisions with all major ADA-recognized dental specialties represented. The College has approximately 600 students in its undergraduate and graduate programs.

Supports the mission of the College of Dentistry and its departments by monitoring and assisting implementation of health and safety regulation and assisting with planning and coordination of facility repair, maintenance, and construction and renovation projects. Serves as building coordinator of Postle Hall; assists with coordination of building issues of other buildings occupied by departments within the College of Dentistry; works with college personnel, Physical Facilities and contractors to facilitate maintenance of equipment in buildings, laboratories, clinics; works with facilities to coordinate urgent maintenance and repair matters; works with research and clinical groups to coordinate instrument repairs and maintenance; oversees asset management and equipment inventory activities; assists with implementation of OSHA regulations; represents College of Dentistry departments in planning and implementation of construction and renovation projects as needed; attends meetings, interacts with departments, architects and contractors; assists with planning of special events as needed; other duties as assigned.

Monday-Friday; This position is an essential position and is subject to 24/7 emergency call-in when needed.

This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.

May require work at satellite facilities and training at offsite locations. Subject to working conditions as dirt; chemical fumes and exposure; electrical hazard and shock; may be exposed to dangerous power equipment; working with power equipment in machine & wood shop; lift moderate to heavy objects (50+); drive state vehicle.

Required: Bachelor’s Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and 2 years’ experience.

Desired: 2-4 years’ experience; excellent verbal and oral communication skills; science laboratory experience and knowledge of safe, laboratory practices desired; knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, email and graphics software desired.

Additional Information:

By the start of employment, all newly hired employees must receive at least the first dose of a two-dose series or a single dose of a one-dose series COVID-19 vaccination. Individuals who choose a two-dose series vaccination must receive the second dose within 45 days of their start date. Proof of vaccination will be required at time of hire.

Candidates may request a medical or religious exemption from the vaccination requirement. Campus employees may also request an exemption for personal reasons. Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, College of Medicine or OSUP Employees are not eligible for personal exemptions. All exemptions are subject to Ohio State’s approval and subject to change, including revocation, due to legal and regulatory requirements.

The Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $27.93 to $37.21.
