The Directorate of Facilities Management is responsible for the planning and management of the CQU campus estate and deliver services through a diverse professional team that is innovative and striving for continuous improvement.  
We are currently seeking a team member to provide a wide range of services predominantly across our campus in Sydney and provide support across other campuses.  This includes planning and coordinating resources and activities, general repairs, maintenance and cleaning services, assistance with minor works submissions and administration activities.

Position Requirements

 

  • In compliance with DFM guidance, coordinate maintenance planning and scheduling activities including but not limited to:
    • assisting with implementing proactive planning measures for all facilities maintenance requirements including the development of maintenance schedules and associated project plans across various campuses 
    • providing effective coordination and supervision of Facilities Management Directorate (DFM) staff and contractors to maintain a high level of workplace health and safety 
    • providing support to management on monitoring contractor performance and working with stake holders and contractors to resolve performance issues, and
    • obtaining quotes, raising work orders where necessary and confirming invoices for payment
  • Supply to management both formal and informal reports (verbal & written) as required as well as effectively contribute to meetings and committees in relation to facilities management matters. Providing recommendations for innovative changes to assist in the improvement of resource management.
  • As part of the operation’s team effectively liaise with the University’s security contractor to address campus, building and personal security, access control, CCTV activities and risks at all campuses.
  • Performing accurate computer data entry into the University Asset Management system “Archibus” where required (raising and closing Archibus requests with correct data in a timely manner). Management of email inboxes at a high level, through categorising (quote, invoice, actioned, for payment, saved, Archibus etc).
  • Adopting a proactive approach, personally carry out minor maintenance activities for assign campuses when onsite, including but not limited to – minor paint and patch work, whiteboard placement and fitting, minor non-licences repairs to plumbing and lighting fixtures, furniture moves, room setup, ceiling tile replacement and issue investigation to determine root cause and rectification works.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise with clients, trades and subcontractors and provide technical advice. 
  • Travel to other campuses may be required
