  • casual opportunity to ensure the administration and accommodation facilities of the Department are maintained in a high standard of cleanliness and well presented environment

  • part time casual role (30 hours per week) until end of December 2022

  • HE04 Step 1 $50.47 per hour

About the opportunity 

The Sydney Knowledge Hub aims to foster a closer understanding between researchers at the University and the outside world.  Our services include a coworking space for research-based startups and industry partners of the University, and producing and hosting events on educating and inspiring researchers in their commercialisation journey.

Your key responsibilities (but not limited to) will be to:

Ensuring the space and facilities are maintained including:

  • Daily setup and close down of kitchen

  • Serving as first point of contact for facilities issues and requirements

  • Triaging various space and facilities issues that may arise

Administrative issues that arise as related to members or guests including

  • Setting up new members with access to the space

  • Ad hoc requests that arise

Serving as lead for University services, including cleaning, ICT issues, etc

Supporting other team members with ad hoc requests related to issues such as:

  • Designing and printing signs

  • Ad hoc administrative requests

Meeting and event bookings

  • Booking events and meetings

  • Serving as first point of contact

Ordering supplies and serving as key contact for suppliers

Accounts lead including:

  • Serving as key contact for suppliers and customers

  • Purchasing reconciliations

About you

Overall, this role requires the ability to figure things out – this role will require a great deal of initiative to figure out solutions to problems.  You should like rolling up your sleeves and communicating clearly and effectively.

  • You are digitally savvy

  • You have experience with software as a service platforms

  • experience in teamwork for completion of tasks with competing deadlines

  • experience with time management and prioritising of tasks

  • good interpersonal, communication skills
