Summary of Job Duties:
This position entails research responsibilities in the bait and sportfish production lab, and the fish nutrition labs. The successful candidate must be willing to work in indoor lab settings and outdoors to maintain experimental trials with live fish and associated analyses.
Under the direction of the bait/sportfish production and fish nutrition PIs, the student will assist the personnel in both labs up to 20 hours/week. The student will work on ongoing and new projects involving bass, tilapia, koi and catfish. The student will assist with lab analysis and maintenance of feeding and breeding trials.
The student will also participate in data entry and analysis, presentation of results at meetings, and written fact sheets and other publications resulting from the work.
FUNCTIONS
Participate in Bait and Sportfish production and Fish Nutrition research activities
Present Research Findings at scientific and/or producer meetings
Willingness to learn MS Word/PowerPoint/Excel/Statistical
Current BS student in SAFHS or other STEM field. High school students will also be considered.
