Executive Officer to the Director of SITU and SITU Coordinator

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated Executive Officer to provide high quality administrative support to Professor Michael Douek and the Surgical Intervention Trials Unit (SITU), based in the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences at the Botnar Research Centre.

The Executive Officer will be central in the running of SITU and will administer the day-to-day throughput of work in the Unit, dealing with a wide range of matters. They will also be organising provide full administrative support to the Director of SITU, including diary management, travel arrangements and dealing with correspondence and clear communication with a wide variety of people.

About you 

You will be a strongly motivated and meticulous individual, with previous experience of diary management and complex travel arrangements. You will be highly computer literate, with skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email and other office applications. You will have a willingness to work independently yet also collaboratively, and will be able to respond flexibly to the demands of this interesting and varied post. Previous experience of managing finances is essential. You will have a respect for confidentiality and be able to deal with a wide range of contacts with both tact and efficiency.  

Previous experience of working in in clinical trials and knowledge of Good Clinical Practice would be an advantage but is not essential.

This full-time post is available immediately and is fixed-term until 3rd January 2024 in the first instance. We would be willing to consider applications for part-time hours.
