About the role

The Executive Director, Research Services will provide vision and leadership to deliver first class academic-centric services in support of the University’s strategic vision and objectives relating to research income, grants, contracts, finance, ethics, governance and integrity outcomes and service excellence. This includes planning, evaluating and continually improving service offerings, and leading the development and implementation of effective University-wide business processes. As a key member of RIC’s senior leadership team, the Executive Director, Research Services will work closely with senior stakeholders across the University, including peers, the Associate Deans Research, Faculty Research Managers and Executive Directors of the Academic Divisions, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and the research Pro Vice-Chancellors. The role will also lead RIC’s contribution to the business case development and implementation of a new enterprise-wide research management system, and deputise for the Managing Director of RIC when necessary in a range of areas internally and externally.

About you

A values-driven executive leader with considerable industry profile, you have deep knowledge of Australia’s research and higher education sectors, a global mindset and the ability to build meaningful relationships with academics and professional staff at all levels within world-leading institutions. You have outstanding communication, engagement and commercial skills, and the demonstrated ability to drive transformations within complex organisational environments. As a leader you have a high EQ with an outstanding record of building a culture of respect, continuous improvement and service and a passion to help both academics and professional staff achieve their full potential.
