Executive Director for Student Enrollment – Enrollment, Admissions and Student Service Center

Reports to: Associate Provost for Enrollment Management

Purpose: The job holder will provide executive leadership, strategic planning and administrative oversight for all operations and support functions associated with the student recruitment, admissions, and Student Service Center (SSC) while ensuring exceptional applicant experience. The ultimate strategic role of the job holder is the recruitment and retention of a highly qualified and diverse student body.

Responsibilities:

The holder of this position will lead and oversee the following main functions through his/her team:

Strategic Student Recruitment

  • Designs and executes long-term strategies and operational tactics to help ensure sustainable enrollment growth and diversity of the student population as articulated in the strategic enrollment management plan
  • Designs data-driven annual local and regional recruitment plans for conducting school visits and participating in educational fairs in Egypt and abroad
  • Promotes the continuous flow of quality applicants to the university by analyzing trends in enrollment activities, presenting new strategies for the University’s recruitment activities by setting local and regional recruitment
  • Oversees the development of productive working relationships with key feeder schools and counselors, including events targeting counselors of feeder high schools
  • Provides strategic guidance for the development and implementation of promotional plans including target countries, dates and social media to ensure its alignment with the University recruitment plans

Applicant Experience and Student Service Center (SSC)

  • Sets a strategic direction for Student Service Center operations while ensuring quality services to all applicants, students (undergraduate/graduate/ALI/non-D-degree), alumni and parents through providing a one-stop-shop centralized access to the office services of admissions, enrollment, registrar, student account, student financial support, advising and ID Center
  • Leads the design and updating of SSC standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Leads the full digital transformation of SSC operations
  • Ensures a high-quality applicant experience in terms of inquiry response time, follow-up, and resolution of issues
  • Maintains and utilizes a strong Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system which is conducive to effective recruitment and an enhanced applicant experience

Admissions

  • Ensures sound admissions policies and procedures design and implementation
  • Recommends the University’s cut-off scores for various certificates to the undergraduate program
  • Oversees the effective evaluation of credentials at all levels, undergraduates, non-degrees and Arabic language program
  • Oversees the establishment of admissions strategies through forecasting and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; aligning monetary resources; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions and minimizing the impact of variances

Other Technical and Administrative Functions

  • Promotes and oversees the full alignment with AUC schools and academic departments for an effective recruitment strategy
  • Develops a financially sound budget for the area within the purview
  • Providing a working environment that supports the retention of highly qualified staff talent
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree is required
  • Master’s degree in education or a related field is an asset

Experience:

  • A minimum of 20 years of experience in the educational field including 7-10 years in the area of student enrollment

Skills:

  • Demonstrates expert knowledge and ability in the admissions field with a wide range of awareness pertaining to the various educational systems and the evaluation of certificates from all over the world
  • Knowledge and understanding of current and emerging technologies related to recruitment
  • Ability to develop recruitment and admission initiatives that are conducive to a high-quality and diverse student body
  • Sound business development skills and experience in higher education marketing
  • Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive strategic enrollment management plan
  • Visionary, transformational, and empathetic leadership with strong personal and professional integrity, analytical skills, and a commitment to collaboration, innovation, and creativity
  • Demonstrates leadership, management, and supervisory skills, including the ability to work effectively with leaders of other teams
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, management, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
