The Executive Director for Administration is a senior-level position in the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences and the College of General Studies. Reporting directly to the Dean, the Executive Director for Administration will provide strategic management, staffing oversight, and organization development for the operations and support structure serving 30 academic departments and numerous administrative and support units that make up the school.

The Executive Director for Administration (EDA) will work closely with the Dean and senior leadership to develop strategic priorities and advise on staffing resources and structures necessary to implement priorities. The EDA will serve as liaison to central University units on these issues. The EDA will be the key professional development expert and human resources professional for the Dietrich School and its components, and will direct the administrative functions to fulfill the Dietrich School’s institutional goals and initiatives.

Experience in strategic management of a large-scale, diverse workforce is critical, as is strategic planning/implementation and project management. Exceptional written/oral communication and critical analysis skills are essential.

The successful candidate will be able to manage several tasks simultaneously and respond quickly to changing priorities.

This position requires a Master’s degree, preferably a terminal degree, in a relevant field and at least 7 to 10 years of experience in a senior-level administrative position.


A master’s or terminal degree in a relevant field is required. Ability to assimilate knowledge of the University’s policies and procedures.
