Anticipated Starting Salary: Minimum $125,000 (Compensation is commensurate to one’s education and experience.)

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Student Affairs Administration, Higher Education or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ten years of related experience in management, higher education, and/or Student Conduct Administration.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to work with diverse populations.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of word processing and database applications.
• Knowledge of higher education law as it applies to student conduct work.
• Strong leadership skills and dedication to team-management.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Master’s or Doctorate in educational administration, Student Affairs, or equivalent.
• Eight years’ experience with complex university-level student conduct work and leadership of a student conduct unit, may include any individual or combination of work with student academic integrity issues, civil rights misconduct, or other behavioral misconduct.

Preferred Licenses and Certifications:

• Completion of the Gehring Academy Foundations Track or equivalent.
• Completion of the Gehring Academic Senior Conduct Office Track or equivalent.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to read and interpret law.
• Ability to work creatively within clearly established legal and institutional boundaries.
• Ability to navigate complex interactions with campus partners and stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities

• Coordination and Liaising – Serves as the primary contact for entities at Texas A&M University that administer the Student Conduct Code, including, but not limited to Residence Life, the Corps of Cadets, Education Abroad, Athletics, branch and off-site locations, and the Policy Internship Program. Responsible for engaging with campus partners on student conduct concerns impacting the campus community. Responsible for training of decision makers for the interim suspension process. Oversight of training to campus partners serving on Student Conduct Conference panels and Academic Integrity Honor Boards. Oversight of directors implementing annual MOU processes.

• Student Conduct Administration – Provides oversight and direction for the administration of the student conduct code, academic integrity, and student organization conduct. Initiates investigations for alleged violations of the student conduct code. Serves as signature authority on interim restrictions and suspensions, including cases originating with the Department of Civil Rights and Equity Investigations. Serves as the appellate authority for cases resolved through the student conduct code resulting in sanctions of Conduct Probation or lower. Facilitates the early expungement process as outlined in the student rules.

• Strategic Planning & Budget Management – Provides direction to the Student Conduct Office, Academic Integrity, Student Conduct Investigations, and Organizational Conduct through strategic planning. Develops and manages budgets for these areas. Responsible for assessment and evaluation of the department’s programs and services.

• Supervision, Staffing, & Leadership – Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, and training of staff within the Student Conduct Office, Aggie Honor System Office, Student Conduct Investigations, and Organizational Conduct. Provides day-to-day leadership and mentorship of staff in these areas.

• Committees and Outreach – Serves as representative for division, institutional, and state boards, meetings, and committees including, but not limited to bi-monthly Vice President meetings, advisory councils for units under supervision, bias response and threat assessment teams, and monthly/annual meetings of state and national colleagues. Provides education to campus partners including, but not limited to, New Faculty Orientations, academic departments, student organizations. Edits and disseminates annual compliance notices to students including, but not limited to Alcohol and Other Drugs and Hazing. Perform other duties as assigned.
