Executive (Communication & Outreach) – St. John’s Island National Marine Laboratory

An Executive is required to assist with administration and operations of the St John’s Island National Marine Laboratory (SJINML) including operations of its public gallery.

Duties & Responsibilities
The responsibility of the staff includes the following:
1. Assist with management of SJINML’s Education facilities
2. Support operations of the Sisters Islands Marine Park public gallery located within Education cluster
3. Assist Facility Director with reports and management of public gallery
4. Assist with administrative duties associated with outreach activities of SJINML.
5. Assist with administrative duties, procurement and safety management for SJINML.
6. Assist with content updating for website and editing of SJINML newsletter.

Qualifications

1. Degree in Life science, Environment Science or related disciplines. Candidates with Diploma in Environment Science with relevant knowledge of marine science and few years of experience will also be considered.
2. Candidates with good writing skills are preferred.
3. Some IT knowledge and interest in website development will be an advantage.
4. An interest in marine science and Singapore biodiversity will be useful.
5. Due to nature of outreach activities, candidate must be prepared to work on weekends.
6. Job location is at the St John’s Island and travel to work includes ferry ride. Candidate must be able to swim. He/she should be prepared to work in offshore location.
7. Good communication skills and a positive attitude is required.
8. Candidate should be self-motivated and able to work in a team
