About the position

Reporting to the Senior Deputy Vice Chancellor and Vice-President Research and Industry Engagement, and working closely with members of the Senior Executive Group, the Pro Vice-Chancellor Industry Engagement is responsible for ensuring a strategic approach to industry engagement and promotes a culture in which our ambition to be a ‘Partner of Choice’ is supported at La Trobe University.The position provides high level administrative support to the Pro Vice-Chancellor Industry Engagement (PVC Industry Engagement). The Executive Assistant to the PVC Industry Engagement will be responsible for providing executive support to the PVC Industry Engagement.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have;

  • Degree with subsequent relevant experience to consolidate the theories and principles learned, or extensive experience, leading to either the development of specialist expertise or to the development of broad knowledge in an administrative field, or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
  • Advanced level Microsoft Office and general computer skills and experience in the use of database applications and online collaboration tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and with the ability to build rapport and liaise with people at all levels.
  • Demonstrated planning and organisational skills and an ability to coordinate work, manage a busy work schedule and meet competing timelines.
  • Demonstrated capacity to deal with matters tactfully, discreetly and in the strictest confidence.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement in administrative processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively.
  • Ability to innovate and take responsibility for outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and monitor workflows within own area of responsibility.
