Job description

The Study Abroad team based within the International Office exists to support and promote Study Abroad to UCLan students. You will report to the International Partnership Manager. You will be part of the Universities successful exchange programmes which include ERASMUS, ISEP, Worldwide and International Travel Bursary. You will also work with partners throughout the world in order to promote exchanges and welcome students to UCLan. The Study Abroad team provides international students from a variety of countries with the experience of studying abroad. It is essential that the Study Abroad team provide excellent customer service and support.

 

The role involves advising UCLan students who are interested in studying abroad, supporting them during their application process, during their time overseas and upon their return. You would also advise students from overseas coming to UCLan on their options and support them during their studies at UCLan.

 

You will have contact with UCLan students, overseas students and our worldwide partners therefore you should be confident in your communication skills.  You will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative student support for UCLan’s exchange and study abroad programmes providing advice and support for incoming and outgoing students as well as staff members on the various schemes offered. You will work with the team to increase student and staff mobility, promotion of ‘International week’ and Open Days. Holding a degree or equivalent experiential experience, you will give presentations to both staff and students on the benefits to studying abroad.

 

Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview. This position is based in Preston. Some overseas travel may be required.
