Position overview

An opportunity exists for a motivated individual in a role that supports the promotion and communication of exciting student focused learning abroad opportunities and activities at the Australian National University and partner universities.  

Global Programs (GP) are a specialist team who are accountable for the implementation, delivery, and support of learning abroad programming at the Australian National University. The team provides support to colleges, students, and other stakeholders in the provision of credit bearing international study experiences for both ANU students going abroad and international students wishing to come to ANU as non-award exchange or study abroad students. Global Programs also manage the Universities learning abroad funding including OS-HELP, New Colombo Plan and the ANU Vice Chancellors Coursework Travel Grants.

The Events and Communication Officeris responsible for the promotion and communication of Learning Abroad opportunities at ANU and partner universities. Working with the ANU Colleges and the wider International Strategy Portfolio, the Officer coordinates and publishes updated information for the ANU Global Programs team through a variety of media including the ANU Global Programs information and application system, ANU websites, social media, email and traditional print publications. The Officer will undertake face-to-face student communications at various stages of application and program processes. 

We welcome applications from self-motivated and highly organised professionals with demonstrated previous experience with event coordination and communication and marketing skillsets. Our ideal candidate will be personable, and able to provide a high level of customer service, with excellent time management and effective verbal and written communication skills. They will be known for their initiative, excellent attention to detail with experience utilising social media platforms for the purpose of program promotion being highly desirable.
