About the vacancy

The Events Team, based in the Future Students, Communications and Marketing department, organise the University’s annual awards ceremonies and a programme of corporate events. The team is divided into two sub teams. The award ceremonies team deliver around 42 ceremonies across the year for some 6,000 students and 12,000 guests. The corporate events team deliver a series of high-profile evening public lectures, the annual UWE staff excellence awards, building openings and celebratory events. We aim to deliver high impact reputational events that showcase the best of UWE Bristol.

About you

We’re looking for someone with an eye for detail, who is a collaborative team player. The role provides administrative support across both teams; it’s a busy and interesting entry-level events role, suitable for someone looking to take their first step into event management. You will be supporting the administration and the delivery of events, so expect to be out of the office onsite experiencing all live events. The post holder will be required to use their own initiative and prioritise their own workload. The role is heavily customer focused; you will be dealing with customer queries on email and via the phone and you will need to build good relationships with a range of stakeholders.

Where is this role based?

This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed – £300m has been invested in new state-of-the-art learning spaces and accommodation while we continue to develop incredible new facilities  to enhance our offer even further.

Frenchay campus has excellent transport links ; as well as being located near the motorway network we are within walking distance of two train stations , our bus terminus connects us to the local bus and metrobus network and we also have a range of cycling and changing facilities.

This is a full time, fixed-term post until 1 September 2023, working 37 hours per week.

This post is available on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part time.

UWE Bristol is a campus-based University and it is important for our success and the delivery of an outstanding experience for our students that our campuses are dynamic and vibrant places to learn and spend time. This role is therefore campus based with the opportunity for remote working.

The University’s normal practice is that new appointments will be made at the starting point of the grade.
