Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
● Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to normal business hours as needed
● Assist with coordination of student staff as needed
● Two years of administrative/professional level experience in the Hospitality or Hotel/Housing industry preferred
● Two years of administrative level use of IRIS Coordinator or similar reservation system that involves reservations, housekeeping and front desk experience preferred
● Ability to manage multiple priorities, high demand customers, focus on customer experience, timely customer responses
● Strong orientation towards hospitality and customer service for the meeting, convention and guest accommodations industries
● Ability to work under minimal supervision
● Must have professional attitude and appearance
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
● Strong written and oral communication skills
● Valid AK Driver’s License and able to drive work vehicle
● Demonstrate strong customer service skills required with high demand clients, where timely customer service communication required
● Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines
● Ability to function in a multi-task environment with strong leadership and organizational skills
● Demonstrate organizational leadership ability
● Ability to work with strong attention to detail and accuracy and follow through
● Ability to work simultaneously with a broad variety of vested interest groups and to foster a cooperative environment, and commitment to diversity
● Ability to anticipate problems and implement corrective action
● Ability to perform effectively under significant pressure typically associated with meeting the requirements of high demand clients
● As needed, will support outside typical responsibilities to all aspects of division need, to further the goals and mission of Campus Services, including the Alaska Airlines Center and summer housing operations
● Other duties as assigned
Typical Experience:
Two years administrative/professional level experience in the Hospitality industry preferred.
Required Education or Training:
Bachelor’s degree and/or significant work experience in lieu of a degree preferred. Knowledge, background, coursework or training in the hospitality industry, business, and/or administrative preferred. Previous experience in IRIS or similar database preferred.
Salary Information:
This is a full-time, 12-month, term-funded, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule , Grade 77, based on education and experience.
