Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:

This position manages the operations event details, maintenance oversight, manages setup, execution, and tear down of all campus events scheduled through the Office of Event Services in consultation with the Event Operations Manager. This position facilitates any and all duties assigned by the Event Operations Manager and works closely with other full and part-time staff in the execution of all event and non-event related functions.

  • Manage and complete the timely, accurate, and organized execution of Office of Event Services events on and off campus as assigned by the Event Operations Manager.
  • Supervise and facilitate the conversion of event spaces with oversight of full-time and part-time staff in the Arena and conference centers.
  • Assist the Event Operations Manager with management of staffing needs including scheduling, deployment, and monitoring of full time, part time (100+) and FWS staff (40+).
  • Assist the Event Operations Manager in all maintenance functions and projects as it applies to the Office of Event Services.
  • Coordinate and support events from an operations, technical, or front of house role as assigned by the Event Operations Manager.
  • Maintain equipment and asset inventory.
  • Train part-time employees on equipment, processes, and procedures in accordance with all directives from the Event Operations Manager.

  • Candidate must have knowledge of, including, but not limited to the operation of a multi-use event center, audio and video production equipment, stage lighting, digital lighting control, athletic events, staging set up, aerial rigging and event production.
  • Must be able to create and maintain spreadsheet data in MS Excel and use MS Word.
  • Prefer candidate with expertise in event-planning software including: room-scheduling (such as EMS), staff-scheduling (Shiftboard), and event set-up diagrams (CAD/Microsoft Visio).
Required Education Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business or Finance or the equivalent experience.
Required Experience 1-2 years experience in an arena, theater, convention center or hospitality operations/sales. Equivalent education may be substituted.

 

The selected candidate will be required to complete a background check satisfactory to the University.
