College of Medicine and Public Health
Under broad direction the Evaluation Coordinator – Student Wellbeing will undertake research focussed on knowledge translation to support integrated approaches to build and enhance the wellbeing of medical students.
The Evaluation Coordinator – Student Wellbeing will be located in the College of Medicine and Public Health and work closely with the Dean (Education), the Director of the Medical Program and the Discipline Lead, Behavioural Health to evaluate resources that are aimed at promoting medical students’ psychological fitness, evaluating the Social and Emotional Needs of medical students and provide recommendations around enhancing MD students’ wellbeing as they progress through their studies and their careers.
Key Position Responsibilities
The Evaluation Coordinator – Student Wellbeing is accountable for:
Conducting a project to review the effectiveness of the resources provided to students in the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program to support their mental health and wellbeing
Evaluating how we equip medical students to access resources in a timely way and partner in the co-creation of support to build and maintain their wellbeing
Building relationships and liaising with staff, across Flinders metropolitan, rural and remote sites, responsible for supporting medical students in the MD.
Reviewing the current approaches to wellbeing support for medical students and making recommendations for future approaches.
Developing relationships with key stakeholders, including employers and student groups.
Any other responsibilities in line with the level of the position as assigned by the Supervisor and/or the University.
Key Position Capabilities
Completion or near completion of a relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent qualifications and experience;
Demonstrated evidence of research or evaluation experience (for example as a mental health professional, educator, educational researcher, or evaluator);
Evidence of mental health and wellbeing evaluation, educational research, or evaluation skills;
Good communication skills including interpersonal, professional, and academic communications;
Proven ability to use computer-based work and communication tools such as the Microsoft Office suite or equivalent.
Evidence of understanding of the importance of mental health and wellbeing as it applies to health professional education;
Familiarity with the health professional education context, and with contemporary approaches to managing wellbeing;
Relevant experience of working in higher education environment (desired) .
