ESL Teacher

Are you an ESL teacher looking to supplement your income in an international student environment, interacting with students of varying ages from over 40 countries? Have you recently completed TESOL or CELTA training and are looking to put your new skills and training into practice while receiving developmental feedback from experienced, nurturing ESL professionals?

EF’s dynamic Victoria is looking for an energetic, outgoing teacher to initially fill a short-term contract, with the potential of it rolling into a longer-term one. Newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply.

Duties and responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Teach scheduled contact hours as scheduled by Academic Management
• Provide high quality classes using our EF blended learning program
• Complete the necessary administrative work required for classes in a timely manner
• Prepare materials and resources relevant to your classes, including handouts, quizzes, tests, and assignments as needed for each course
• Help students with queries they may have and communicate this with the appropriate department
• Actively participate in teacher meetings and all staff development activities

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor Degree
• CELTA/DELTA/TESL Canada Level One Certification
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
• Must be legally able to work in Canada
• Minimum 1 year experience teaching adults in a multicultural setting but can be flexible
• Passion for teaching
• Ability to teach all levels of English
• Excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
• Exceptional organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
