Job Description
• Manage daily start-up, process conditioning, shut down of lab equipment, and attend to operational-related issues for smooth equipment operation.
• Provide speedy and appropriate responses in the event of breakdown of critical equipment and provide support to R&D activities as and when required.
• Ensure process equipment are working and running efficiently. Monitor the equipment booking on EPIC and provide necessary support to researchers. Ensure >90% uptime of lab equipment (with BKM process) and update of equipment status in the database (EPIC) timely.
• Identify, plan and implement preventive maintenance (PM) requirements to support continual improvements of operational efficiency and process control such as monitor process parameters before and after PM.
• Liaise with equipment vendors to identify suitable and available equipment/process upgrades.
• Coordinate and supervise vendors/contractors to work on equipment maintenance/upgrade/ retrofitting/ hook-up related jobs.
• Maintain proper documentations and procedures for R&D equipment operation including Standard Operational Procedures, Work Instructions and Risk Assessments.
• Provide timely and effective execution of equipment-related service contracts by service providers to preserve and extend equipment service life.
• Ensure compliance and initiate improvement programs for Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Quality requirements for R&D equipment.
• Provide assistance on processing and characterisation services for various industry-funded and public-funded projects.
• Examples of processing tools the candidate shall operate and maintain: screen-printing, plating, dryer, fast-firing belt furnace, hot air oven, physical vapour deposition, DC and Magnetron sputtering equipment, PECVD Equipment.
Requirements
• Degree / Diploma in Engineering or equivalent with minimum of 5 years’ experience in R&D equipment, preferably working in the Cleanroom environment
• Possess good technical knowledge in Silicon Solar Photovoltaic R&D equipment, especially in industrial wet-chemistry tools (texturing and single-side etch process) and/or PECVD processing is preferred.
• Possess strong communication, holistic organisational planning and analytical skills.
• Able to work independently and comfortable to manage equipment vendor/contractor.
• Team player, proactive with possess good interpersonal skills.
• Highly acquainted with MS office (Word, Power Point, Excel).
