Position Overview

Massey Equine Veterinary Clinic (EVC) is looking for a new permanent full time Equine Veterinary Nurse or Technician. 

The role will be focused on providing general nursing and technical support in our busy equine hospital. You will be involved in restraining animals for veterinary procedures as well as providing assistance with the care and treatments of our patients.

You can expect lots of variation in this role as you provide nursing and technical support to veterinary clinicians in equine nursing, medical, surgical, anaesthetic, diagnostic and teaching procedures. 

A diploma in Veterinary Nursing or higher is desirable, so if you have the ability and willingness to work in a teaching hospital, come and join our friendly and passionate team! This role is for you!

To be successful, you will need to have excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude. The ability to work safely around horses and ponies of all temperaments is crucial; previous nursing experience is preferred but not essential. 

You will be involved in teaching veterinary students so you must have a passion for imparting knowledge and practical teaching. The successful candidate must also have a commitment to their own professional development.
The position will involve evening/night duties and on-call work.  You will be expected to work a nominal 37.5 hour week on a roster basis.
