Epic Security Analyst

Job Summary
Epic Security professional with in-depth knowledge of the core security build structure, including but not limited to: EMP, SER, ECL, E2R. This position is responsible for work on system maintenance and enhancements, complex analysis of workflow and implementation of design solutions, upgrades, small and medium projects, process improvement, documentation, auditing, and change control.
Department Description
The Ancillary Systems group is within the Clinical Systems Department. The team consists of 4 groups including Technology Apps, Departmental Apps, Customer Engagement Apps and Application Security. The Application Security team manages all aspects of security with our Epic EHR and is involved with the majority of application built, testing and production support activities associated with our EHR.
Clinical Systems and Health Informatics are responsible for all aspects of the clinical and business software applications of UCSF Health hospitals, practices, affiliates, and community partners. This includes the Electronic Health Record (APeX), which supports the clinical, revenue cycle, and clinical operational functions of the health system and its affiliates, and approximately 95 other software applications involved in patient care and operations.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and / or equivalent combination of experience / training.
- Epic Security Certification
- 3-5 years Epic security and/or SER experience, or a combination of application experience and Security/SER experience.
- Epic Security Requirements:
- Proficient at end-user provisioning (EMP and SER)
- Proficient at Analysis, build, and design of Epic Security models (Templates, Subtemplates, Security Classes, User Roles, SERs).
- Data courier, import/export, Chronicles
- Broad and / or in-depth knowledge of 1-2 areas of focus in clinical applications specialty area(s). Knowledge of systems and functions, including design, development, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation.
- Strong problem-resolution skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose problems, and develop, test, and implement appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively, train, support, and work collaboratively with users of clinical information systems at all professional and technical levels.
- Detail oriented, with proven organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and see projects through to completion on deadline.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to convey technical information and instructions to all levels of clinical applications users in a specific, clear, and concise manner.
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge in documentation and reporting, with the ability to design and execute tests, analyze system performance data, and produce substantive reports and analyses.
- Ability to work with senior staff and managers, serving as a technical resource and providing advice and counsel on issues of functionality, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, policy, and performance.
