Position Summary:
We are searching for an Epic Application Specialist to focus on Clinical Imaging, Interface technology, and Epic Bridges. This employee will be responsible for the ongoing design, build, testing, validation and support of any and all of these assigned modules across the health care system. They work with operational stakeholders and IT technical staff to troubleshoot Epic system issues and problems, capture requirements for new initiatives, and aid in the planning and execution of project plans. You will also work with end users to help communicate improvements needed for business processes and contribute directly to the success of the UTHealth mission from a technological, clinical, administrative, and financial perspective. You must have interface skills, and experience with Epic. Candidates with certification in Bridges will be given priority. Any experience with imaging systems or HL7 data standards is a plus as well. Any experience in imaging using ISCV, Midmark, Dicom, Dragon, or Aycan is preferred.
This is a completely remote role that can be performed by an employee that lives anywhere as long as they reside in or plan to relocate to Texas as UTHealth Houston is a State employer . Position Key Accountabilities:
1. Analyzes current business processes, works with the business to identify opportunities for improvement in business operations and processes. Interacts with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts in order to understand their problems and needs. Determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information and evaluating requirements.
2. Conducts business systems analysis, data modeling, process flow modeling, and process improvement. Analyzes business processes and studies system capabilities of existing information systems. Interviews stakeholders, end users, and subject matter experts for fact-finding and requirement gathering. Maps existing business processes. Creates, analyzes, and validates detailed functional specifications. Documents existing business processes and business rules. Identifies the current- and future-state business processes. Constructs Visio charts and diagrams for workflows.
3. Prepares business cases and including cost/benefit analysis for proposed processes.
4. Facilitates the design of new solutions and optimizations that support business processes. Works with business partners, system architects, and training to design, modify, test, and implement new or improved business processes or modification to the IT system. The analyst solves business problems and, as needed, designs technical solutions.
5. Performs reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports. Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support your recommendations. Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes. Helps the business stakeholders envision the future and how their work will need to change to support the future.
6. Delivers organizational change and implementation plans. Analyzes impacts on training and organizational changes. Ability to design training materials. Ability to trains users in new procedures and systems.
7. Communicates with clients and co-workers via oral and written communications including presentations
8. Works as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Communicates project status and objectives. Communicates with project team and constituencies.
9. Conducts post implementation review and document goal attainment. Provides post implementation support.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree required preferably in Information Systems or Healthcare Administration.
Minimum Experience:
Four (4) years of experience designing, building and implementing business solutions using information technology. May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
