An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the EACH-B Programme at the Medical Research Council Lifecourse Epidemiology Centre (MRC LEC), University of Southampton. The MRC LEC mission is to promote human health using lifecourse epidemiological methods, integrating observational evidence, understanding of mechanism and implementation of intervention studies.

The successful applicant will be responsible for promoting engagement in diet and physical activity with young people and other stakeholders and to disseminate findings from the EACH-B Programme, a programme of work aiming to improve diet and physical activity in adolescents. The job will involve working closely with young people, local government and third sector organisations to co-create and disseminate out puts from the EACH-B programme, and to drive young people’s advocacy for adolescent health and well-being improvement. This will involve skills possibly acquired through youth work or in the education sector but will also require skills in communication and writing for general audiences. A knowledge of health, social care and education structures and processes in the UK would be an advantage. Team working is very part of the ethos of our research group and the post-holder will also be expected to support the work of the rest of the team in completing the trial of the EACH-B intervention.

The appointment is for 12 months.
