Job Description Summary

BASIC FUNCTION:

Responsible for functional and system support required to maintain complex business processes in the area of Student Financials within Enrollment Services. Collaborate with system and functional teams to design, test, implement and maintain PeopleSoft functionality to provide timely, student-centered tuition and fee assessment and billing, payment and deposit processing, refunding, and 1098T reporting.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage Student Financials system requests for resolution of issues, data needs, and business process changes; prioritize and ensure timely completion of all requests, assigning to other staff when appropriate. Serve as the primary liaison with Student Financials/Bursar staff on troubleshooting issues that impact daily student financial account processing.

Collaborate with technical and subject matter experts to facilitate business process changes related to PeopleSoft, including researching specifications for potential PeopleSoft solutions and how they interact with our current system setup.

Assist with annual item type and course fee rollovers. Perform tuition calculation set up to ensure the timely and accurate assessment of tuition and fees for our traditional and fully online programs.

Oversee outbound data file processes between Student Financials and the external vendors with whom we partner. Troubleshoot issues as needed.

Maintain batch process schedules.

Create, edit, and run queries for functional staff and external university stakeholders, within parameters set by the Bursar.

Analyze existing systems workflow and ensure alignment and compliance with business processes, as well as new federal/state regulations, laws, and institutional priorities. Suggest and assist with implementation of efficiency improvements.

Create and maintain system documentation, business process workflows, and training materials for end-users. Conduct training for Bursar staff related to PeopleSoft functionality.

Conduct testing of PeopleSoft patches, fixes, new releases, and enhancements.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Audit PeopleSoft data to ensure information integrity, in collaboration with the Office of the Controller, the Office of Institutional Research, and other university peers.

Actively participate in Enrollment Services activities to support recruitment and retention of students.

Perform other duties as assigned.

LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:

Personal computers, printers; word processing, spreadsheet and database software. PeopleSoft or Banner or other similar, software application. Excel.

Required QualificationsREQUIRED:

1. Bachelor’s degree.

2. Minimum two years of experience in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Banner or other administrative software applications developed specifically for higher education.

3. Demonstrated Enrollment Services experience.

4. Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills.

5. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

6. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.

7. Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Excel.

8. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.

Preferred QualificationsPREFERRED:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business or related field.

2. Minimum two years of experience in an Enrollment Services operation (financial aid, billing and collections, and /or registration and records).

3. Demonstrated experience working with a Student Financials relational database, writing data queries and reports, and using tools such as SQL and/or Query Manager.

4. Demonstrated knowledge of Bursar programs, processes, and regulations.

5. Demonstrated PeopleSoft Campus Solutions experience.
