 Development and Alumni Relations builds mutually beneficial relationships between the University and our alumni and supporters. Our engagement activities and methods include:  

  • producing online and offline communications  
  • events management  
  • volunteering  
  • affinity and nostalgia marketing
  • major gift fundraising and fundraising appeals
  • stakeholder relationship management 

The role 

The Engagement and Events Officer is a key member of the team and plays an important part in creating, planning and delivering online, hybrid and physical events, on a regional, national and international level, that deepen the University’s engagement with alumni, philanthropists, senior donors and key volunteers. 

 About you  

 For this role, you will need to have:  

  • experience of event project management and of having a creative and aspirational approach to developing and progressing new schemes and initiatives for high-value audiences and with successful business outcomes
  • excellent written, proofreading, listening and verbal skills
  • an interest in meeting people and a willingness to build and maintain working relationships with a variety of individuals of all levels, both inside and outside an organisation  

You must demonstrate experience of providing excellent customer service in your work and of being a highly organised person with the ability to prioritise, reach decisions quickly and work effectively in a busy environment.

In recognition of staff contributions to the University’s achievements during the 2021/2022 academic year, an additional discretionary payment of 2% per annum will be added to your salary until 31/07/23 in order to ensure consistency amongst existing and incoming staff.  This additional 2% will be paid pro rata in equal monthly installments, on top of your salary each month until 31/07/23.
