Endoscopy Service Development Coordinator

We are seeking an Endoscopy Service Development Coordinator (ESDC) to support key stakeholders in the development of the Research Endoscopy service at the EMCRF (Oxford Experimental Medicine Clinical Research Facility). The EMCRF is a collaboration between the University of Oxford and the OUH Trust. It is attached to the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS), and based at Churchill Drive, Headington, OX3 7LA.

The ESDC role is varied and key to the further development of the facility. It involves facilitating needs assessments from clinicians, academics, and service providers as well as incorporating patient and public involvement. You will develop policies and procedures for the endoscopy service (liaising with OUH colleagues regarding clinical governance requirements), train staff to follow them, and then implement and review the policies over time. You will identify issues to consider study-specific risk assessments, and provide input into the development of a charging model. You will also coordinate the procurement of necessary equipment and engage with service contracts to keep this equipment valid and safe.

You will hold a relevant qualification in healthcare or related sciences. Experience working in Endoscopy service in a senior nursing role and of service development/management is needed, as well as experience undertaking risk assessments and implementing policies. You must have strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, both verbally and in writing. Understanding of clinical and research governance and its implications and importance for research are desirable.

This is a variable hours fixed-term appointment for 2 years.
