Physical Requirements The essential job functions of this position require you to: communicate and build working relationships with staff, faculty and candidates from diverse backgrounds; abide by University guidelines; maintain confidentiality; prioritize and manage work effectively; provide exceptional customer service and positively represent the university; ensure work is detailed, accurate and completed in a timely manner; perform work in a sedentary position; interact with individuals from various levels throughout the university and work successfully in a team as well as independently.
Shift Typically Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; additional hours may be required based on departmental needs.
Job Summary The Employment Consultant Senior in Human Resources Employment provides leadership, consultation, and a high-level of customer service to support staff hiring efforts within UK HealthCare. The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Supervision – Supervise Human Resources Employment Consultants and Human Resources Employment Specialists who support UK HealthCare’s hiring efforts. This will include hiring, coaching, and performance management.
Consulting – Serve as the lead hiring and selection consultant for UK HealthCare. Proactively build and maintain strong working relationships with hiring departments to provide resources and tools to support recruitment and selection. This can include coaching, training, developing search specific resources, and recommending hiring best practices. Partner with hiring officials and UK HealthCare leadership to assist in meeting the University’s strategic plan and diversity goals. Lead trainings on general hiring principles, unconscious bias, and other selection best practices.
Organizational Improvement, Service Development, and Compliance – Contribute to the continuous improvement of the department’s services by actively leading projects and work groups. Focus on process improvements in both department and University hiring processes. Ensure all posting and selection requirements are adhered to as outlined by University policies and procedures, relevant state and federal employment laws, and department standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Customer Service – Provide exceptional customer service directly to hiring officials to support staff posting and hiring processes. Ensure overall turnaround times are meeting customer expectations. Use resources to problem solve all escalated issues and seek to eliminate any and all hiring barriers for the hiring department and applicants.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities The ideal candidate must have the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships, effectively influence, coach and train hiring departments and provide leadership and problem solving. This individual must possess professional knowledge of hiring and selection techniques and quickly be able to gain an understanding of the business operations of distinct units of the University. The successful individual will deliver superior customer service focus, have excellent communication skills (written and verbal), attention to detail, planning and organization, information monitoring and analysis and presentation skills. We are seeking a collaborative, innovate individual with a strong respect for diversity and high emotional intelligence which are all keys to success in this position.

Preferred Education/Experience Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field. Prefer several years of experience and a proven track record in hiring and selection coaching and consultation. Experience with Behavior Based Interviewing and Targeted Selection is a plus.
