About the role

This position reports to Leanne Miller, Principal Advisor, Indigenous Workforce Development and you will be part of an exciting and future focused team.

You will be responsible for establishing RMIT’s Indigenous Employment Brand and Indigenous Employee Value Proposition strategy and its implementation. The position will also have a dotted line to RMITs Employment Branding Manager and will need to ensure adherence to broader marketing and people approaches to branding.

About You 

To come and join our team, you’ll have:  

  • The ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.  

  • High level written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience in any of the following areas marketing, communications, human resources or social media.

  • The capability and commitment to continue to develop cultural competency.

  • Ability to meet deadlines, effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required.

  • Confidently and effectively work with colleagues, team leaders, and industry partners.

  • Experience with a broad range of software packages and ability to quickly adapt to new technical skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment.

This is an Identified position and being an Australian Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander is considered a ‘genuine occupational qualification’ in accordance with sub-s 26(3) and s 28 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. Only Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply. Proof of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage is required.

Qualifications

Tertiary or equivalent qualification and / or experience in Communications, Media, Social Sciences or related discipline preferred
