Summary of Job Duties:

In Support of Walton Career Services and the Director of Employer Relations and Technology Management and the Senior Director for Career Services, the Employer Relations Assistant job duties include support of the Career Services Management (CSM) software, including job/internship postings and on-campus interview scheduling and reconciliation of employer and Career Services transactions. Supports and assists staff and employers in the use of online recruiting and CSM software system. Manages the on-campus interview schedule and visit for employers and schedules interview room usage. Receives, posts (and finds new positions to post), and supports dissemination of job and internship postings to students as directed. Assists with enhancing Career Services’ corporate contacts and promotes services through continual communication with recruiters via phone and email as directed. Supervises assigned students and/or hourly workers. Assists in planning and execution of events, programs, and official functions sponsored by Career Services, other centers, and external constituents. Supports administrative needs of Walton Career Services.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma

  • At least one year of specialized training in business management, business education, or a related field

  • At least four years of experience in a specialized or a related field applicable to work performed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel

  • At least six months of higher education experience

  • At least six months of event or program planning and implementation experience

  • Experience in the field of career services and/or recruitment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of work-related subject area

  • Knowledge of computers and software applications

  • Exceptional people skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to research and analyze related work program information

  • Ability to plan, organize, and direct work of others

  • Ability to manage customers and projects at once
