Role Purpose

This newly created role will make sure that the relationship between the Education Group and its people is managed through transparent practices and relevant law.  This is a key operational role within the People Team that requires specialist HR and Employment Law knowledge to develop and deliver employee relations frameworks, policies and procedures for all parts of the Group, both within the UK and overseas. Youill create and deliver a range of employee relations initiatives to make sure that the Group has robust employee relations frameworks, policies and procedures in place for all employers within the Group that are aligned with relevant legislation, best practice and our 2030 Corporate Strategy.

Who You Are:

We are looking for a highly enthusiastic and autonomous professional, who is passionate about the difference education can make in the world, regardless of whether or not you have worked in the sector before, to join our People Team.

We are looking for someone who is experienced in researching and writing HR policies, standards and procedures, using practical experience to inform development. You must have the ability to interpret employment law in a range of complex work situations and mitigate risk.

You will have experience of and are proficient at drafting proposals, presentations and communication materials, and can demonstrate well-developed presentation, influencing and persuasion skills to engage customers and stakeholders at all levels.

You will have experience of managing and supporting the employment tribunal process and be able to demonstrate resilience and deliver under pressure to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Person Specification:

  • Educated to degree level, MCIPD qualified or possess equivalent experience or qualifications
  • Have demonstrable and relevant substantial operational experience within a HR advisory role in a large, complex, matrixed organisation
  • Up-to-date theoretical and practical subject matter knowledge in employee relations issues and associated legislation.
  • Experience of researching and writing HR policies, standards and procedures, using practical experience to inform development.
  • Experience of delivering development and communications content in a variety of formats to the colleagues in the team and the wider business.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering high quality services through excellent customer service skills and practices.
  • Experience of work experience in both the public and private sector, with commercial HR experience would be advantageous.
