Scholarship information

The Emma May Patton VanBockern Scholarship was established by her daughter, Lisa VanBockern, to support non-traditional students returning to school to pursue a higher education. At the age of 30, Emma May Patton VanBockern went back to college to satisfy a need inside to “know” and “understand” higher education. Her experience taught her that college was more than good grades, and she valued the learning experience and personal growth she experienced. The scholarship endowment is a gift of education to build up people and spirits that will become a gift that lasts a lifetime.
