DescriptionLeidos Dynetics Group is seeking a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team to create unique solutions to complex engineering challenges in our Huntsville, AL location. We have offices across the United States that provide responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific, and IT solutions in the defense, space, cyber, and commercial fields.Primary ResponsibilitiesAs an essential part of our dynamic team developing advanced electrical and computer solutions for projects primarily related to missile and aircraft systems. You will design, fabricate, analyze, and integrate hardware, firmware, and software solutions that will successfully address a wide variety of customer challenges.You will also test and troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and software in both lab and field environments.Design electrical and/or software architectures and integrated systems for real-time, mission-critical systems that include flight systems, sensors, ground vehicles, and space hardware.In addition, you will collaborate and communicate with project managers, customers, and team members to determine and develop hardware and software requirements. You will a contributor to system hardware and software architecture decisions based on customer performance requirements, schedule, and cost constraints (including build vs. buy trades).Support task execution including electrical system design, avionics design, payload integration, space hardware design, hardware-in-the-loop simulation, usage of electrical test equipment, system debugging, and systems engineering.​Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering from an ABET accredited institution with a minimum of 2 years of experience.Must have excellent communication skills and, demonstrate capabilities in one or more of the following areas:Electrical system design Electrical circuit design and simulation Hardware and software interface design and integration C/C++ software development Troubleshooting/debugging hardware/software in a lab and/or field environment

Must be a US citizen and be in or willing to relocate to the Huntsville area.Preferred QualificationsParts selection, electrical schematic capture, and wiring harness design experience.Understanding of PC board layout design and SMT manufacturing experience.Sensor instrumentation experience (acceleration, velocity, position, pressure).Radio communication links and GPS/INS systems.Hardware/software/firmware interface design and documentation.Rapid prototyping, integration, and test experience.Enjoys collaborating in fabrication and assembly processes.Mechatronics / robotic experience, including Radio Controlled (R/C) aircraft, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), or missile systems.Requirements-based design and test planning.Technical leadership.Candidates with previous experience working in a team environment are preferred.Candidates with DoD experience is preferred, especially in the areas of manned or unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and/or missile systems.Original Posting Date: 2024-03-29While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.Pay Range: Pay Range $65,000.00 – $117,500.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
