Educational Program Assistant 1 – Law School

JOB SUMMARY

The School of Law is seeking detail-oriented, committed, and team-minded candidates for multiple positions as Program Assistants. The successful candidate will exhibit professionalism, flexibility, and a keen ability to learn new skills and systems as they perform tasks in support of the Law School community and its mission. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include but are not limited to:

  • Assumes primary responsibility for travel planning needs of Law School community members.
  • Provides departmental support on a wide range of organizational, administrative, and operational matters to include all aspects of support of essential Faculty Committees.
  • Develop committees’ calendars and keep members apprised of upcoming deadlines and tasks.
  • Serve as a resource on administrative procedures relating to travel processing and committee management.
  • Maintain confidential files.
  • Support colleagues in Law School projects and tasks.
  • Perform office support functions.
  • Perform related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience OR Associate’s degree and two to three years of experience in a responsible administrative support position.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with the ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse communities.
  • Demonstrated experience providing organizational support in a team environment.
  • Proficient in the use of all MS Office applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, organization, and written and interpersonal skills.
  • Record of progressive improvement of skills or level of expertise.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in higher education.
  • Experience working in a complex, multi-faceted academic office environment.
  • Familiarity with student administrative, academic, financial, travel, and payment processing systems.
  • Ability to expertly manage time and deadlines, and juggle multiple competing priorities.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a full-time, permanent position located on the Law School campus located in Hartford, CT. The University offers a full range of health/retirement benefits. Salary will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s background and experience.
